Freshers Reception & Undergraduate Research Fellowship Award Ceremony is observed

Dhaka University Teachers Students Center Auditorium, 12 September, The Freshers Reception & 1st Undergraduate Research Fellowship Award Ceremony- 2018 is done. The program is organized by Dhaka University Research Society (DURS) with the Association of Global Center for innovation and Learning (GCFIL) USA.

The program is presided by Saifullah Sadeq, the Convener & Founder President of DURS. Pro Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, renowned Professor Dr. Nasreen Ahmad is honoured as the Chief Guest of this program. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Professor at International Relation of Dhaka University and the director of Center for Genocide Studies is designated as the keynote speaker.
 
As well as Dr. Uttam Kumar, Professor Dr. Muhammad Manjurul Karim, Moderator of DURS, Dr. Fazrin Huda, Moderator of DURS, Kazi Sameo Sheesh, Senior Research Fellow, CARASS, Dr. Abdus Samad, Faculty member of Jagannath University, Ayman Sadiq,Founder & CEO of 10 Minute School, Kanok Monirul Islam, Convener & Founder, Open access, Bangladesh and the country director of GCFIL Sayeedul Nakib are presented at this program as a special guest.
 
Professor Dr. Nasreen Ahmad in her speech advised to set a goal for being success in everyone’s life. He encouraged the youth to be oriented to research and lead it to facilitate the life leading of human being.
 
Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed in his speech suggested the young researcher to explore himself and know about his surrounding. He stressed on the exploration of two abundant factors of Bangladesh ; water and population by making connect with Theory of Abundance.
 
He said that the state of research work in Bangladesh has not been noteworthy but in order to change the fate of the country and human history, there was no alternative of research.
 
He further said researchers should give most emphasis on human and water resource of the country to bring a groundbreaking change as these were abundant in the country and researchers should take them as advantage.
 
Sayyedul A Nakib, Country Director & Private Sector Advisor GCFIL said that they would love to continue this Undergraduate Research Fellowship Award in the coming years, along with their other core services in Education for the Public and Private Universities working in Bangladesh and South Asian Countries.
 
All of guests appreciated the innovative initiatives of DURS and their deeds in last two years from it’s emerge.
 
A cultural program is also held with Participation of DURS members. At last the program is ended up with the valedictory oration of Masud Rana, the General Secretary of DURS.
 
Dhaka University Research Society and GLOBAL CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND LEARNING conferred research fellowships for undergraduate students of Dhaka University aiming to encourage students to pursue research in different field and expand the research opportunities.This year three research teams of DURS received seven thousand taka each as a part of the fellowship programme.
